The ProTrainer+ Program

The ProTrainer+ Program

Hi guys,

Being an active person plus enjoying being apart of a community is a large investment of your time and money.

Whether it’s a gym membership, having a pet you like to take for regular walks or being apart of a sports club it takes up your valuable time and money to pursue those things.

This is especially true if you’re a parent with kids who enjoy sport!

I’m a Rugby fan and will always be supportive of the Rugby community.

One of the worst things I see on the weekends is seeing kids get hurt playing a sport they enjoy.

I see the genuine concern parents, club members, supporters and sports trainers in managing player injuries.

Sometimes the sports trainer for the team is Mum or Dad who is just trying to help.

Then there are students at University studying to become qualified professionals in the health field.

As apart of their clinical placement they require over 80 hours of ‘active’ experience to assist in their learning.

These students need the community to assist with their learning.

ProTrainer+ is a program that we are building in 2019 to roll out into 2020 and beyond.

We connect the need (students need experience) with the want (sporting clubs want qualified sports trainers).

The program has professional Physios who monitor, support and train the University students as they provide sports trainer coverage for sporting clubs.

That’s ProTrainer+ in a nutshell.

In season 2019 we decided to commit to ONE CLUB to test our processes Footscray Rugby Union Club.

We have had our ProTrainers+ look after and manage 3 x Senior Men’s teams, U20 and U18 for this season.

Our team consists of 4 x University students and 2 x Physios.

Check out our team page - HERE.

We are just over the halfway mark of the season and I’ll provide more updates on how the program is going in the next post.
