Chronic Disease Part 6 – What is Leaky Gut?

Hi guys,

In our last Chronic Disease post we highlight a condition called SIBO – Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth.

The reason why SIBO is something to look out for is because it’s a sign of damage in your gut.

You are damaging the lining of our intestinal wall (our guts) then it can cause a condition called Intestinal Permeability or ‘Leaky Gut’.

Damage to the walls of your gut can be influenced by:

  • Medications
  • Antibiotics
  • Anti-inflammatories
  • Chronic Stress
  • Tap Water
  • Poor diet

Have you had one of more of the things in the list above?

Once you have damaged the wall of your intestines here are some common conditions that arise:

  • Skin problems like eczema
  • Heart failure
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Thyroid problems (like Hashimoto’s)
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Mental illness
  • Autism
  • Depression (Pyrrole/Mood disorder)

A great way to remedy Leaky Gut is to consider:

  • Appropriate food plan (Low inflammatory diet plan – I like healthy ketogenic diet)
  • Intermittent fasting
  • Proper Supplement (Glutathione, Zinc L-Carnosine, MotilPro)
  • Cod Liver Oil
  • Breathing (Wim Hof Method)
  • Reducing Stress (Meditation, Community, Heart Math)

Shining the light on chronic disease conditions reduces the fear and inaction of trying to fight declining health.

Don’t be scared and start somewhere in your health journey and be consistent.

Discipline is the key

Keep things simple and stay healthy.
