The Road to Europe Pt. 4

Hi guys,

As you are reading this I am making my way around Europe with Iron Armour Academy.

We left on Apr 5 2019 to Lyon France by way of Dubai UAE returning from Lisbon Portugal on Apr 16 2019 back to Melbourne Australia.

Check out the previous posts – Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

Thank you to everyone who helped with our fundraising efforts and assisted with getting the players and staff over to the various games and tournaments we will be participating in.

We will be playing 2 x matches against Lyon U20 and Narbonne U20 in France before heading to Lisbon to participate in the World Youth Festival.

In the meantime I’ll provide you an update on some of the Iron Armour athletes we managed previously and how they’ve got on since their injury:

Davey Kaleopa

Plays Rugby League for Altona Roosters and dislocated his knee cap July 2018.

After months of rehabilitation and specialist appointments Davey was allowed to return to running, training then eventually game time for Iron Armour!

Kingzston Makua-Pori

Broke his leg on September 2018 playing Rugby 7s and we detailed how he recovered from the injury.

Kingzston’s recovery was challenging because he felt that there were 2 steps forward and 3 steps back with his fibula fracture.

Although it was frustrating for Kingzston he persisted and was able to return back to running and eventually preseason training with Wyndham Rhinos.

Both athletes will be heading away to Europe and are rewarded for their stubborn persistence and effort with rehabilitation.

Congratulations fellas!
