Why Checking Your Guts Is Important

Hi guys,

Quick question – have you ever felt bloated or gassy everytime you eat a certain food?

Or do you find that you are sleepy during the day, struggle with skin rashes, short term memory loss, poor sleep, worsening concentration or other signs that seem strange?

These symptoms plus many more may be due to a condition called SIBO – Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

Well, that’s a mouthful!

I spent a whole Saturday recently revising and updating my education on biochemistry and internal medicine on what happens when we eat and digest food.

I recorded a podcast reviewing a whole day seminar by Dave O’Brien from 5th Element Wellness.

What exactly is SIBO?

Too much bacteria finds a way into the small intestine and it causes symptoms.

Symptoms of SIBO can include –

  • Bloating
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhoea (hydrogen issues)
  • Constipation (methane issues)
  • Irritable bowel
  • Inflammation (histamine reactions)

A great way to remedy SIBO is to consider –

  • Short term Low-FODMAP food (Low inflammatory diet plan – I practice healthy ketogenic food strategy)
  • Intermittent fasting
  • Supplement (Glutathione, Zinc L-Carnosine, MotilPro)
  • Antimicrobials – Garlic
  • Antibiotics (Neomycin with Rifaximin)
  • Apple cider vinegar
Having an idea on Gut Health can go a LOOOOONG way into helping you achieve and maintain lifelong health.

Keep things simple.
